BPC shall be implementing the Distribution Management System, a decision support system that would help improve the system reliability, availability and operation of electricity distribution system. In this connection, Distribution Management System (DMS) was included in the investment plans and accordingly approved.
Considering the need to develop in-house capacity of BPC, the technical specifications of the DMS were drafted by BPC only. However, the need for technical vetting of the documents was felt and POWERGRID has been awarded to the work for the consultancy services on the Distribution Management System.
The contract agreement was signed on May 06, 2016 in New Delhi, India between Bhutan Power Corporation Limited and POWERGRID India for a contract value of Rs. 2,897,598.00 (Two Million Eight Hundred and Ninety Seven Thousand Five Hundred and Ninety Eight) only.
